I start a new section within this blog to converse about the global projection of Business and technology, closely linked to the rest of posts in Spanish (which I will follow posting). More and more business means agility to act globally. And technology is part of the picture. Corporate businesses, entrepreneurial firms and technology-based companies are driven into new challenges about the value of technology and management of global projects. I´ll be posting about the stories of companies and leaders out there, especially from the European perspective. You can also participate telling me about your stories around technology from other national perspectives (by replying to this post). I´ll publish my first post in a few days. Stay tuned!

Nice category to be started, Marta. Thanks for this idea.

The usage of technology at the global Level has evolved in a number of ways during the last months, with the usual triggers (economic crisis, the traditional will to content costs, and of course new technlogy trends) but slightly diferent behaviours from those you would expect from more locally focused companies, so learnings and food for discussion is guaranteed :-)

Will stay tuned.

SILICON VALLEY or ” Силиконовая долина ”

Dimitri Medvedev went on a tour to Palo Alto, CA.

Yeah!!! … Russia PM in the heart of Silicon Valley. In the heart of the only US industrial well functioning network. Right through the doorway of TWITTER and FACEBOOK living rooms.

Old romantic “cold warriors” would not believe this diplomatic visit some time ago. But now, in our current times, everything is possible !!! …

Moreover, when some pictures show how Obama invited Dimitri to have lunch in a local burger right in the heart of Washington government headquarters.

Dimitri ordered a COKE and a CHEESEBURGER, Obama preferred some ICE TEA.

In previous posts, my question was clear:

Why SILICON VALLEY happens only in the US ???

Well, now maybe I have to review this analysis, asking you and myself if SILICON VALLEY… is exportable ?? …

In a time where China seems to pay few attention to the US, and Iran has dramatically closed down any relationship with russians, the US is always there to make friends…better said, to reinforce the calm relations with old enemies …

Russia is considered the main Gas and Oil privately driven conglomerate state.

Corruption and bribery around these industrial privatisations drove the country to enclose the INTERNATIONAL TRANSPARENCY “famous” lists. Nevertheless, Obama is always ready to welcome dangerous friends, because Barry is always an openminded president… Otherwise, would someone else have been awarded as the Nobel Peace Prize with less than one year in Office and a 30.000 US soldiers sending into Afghanistan ??? …

This ironic comment is not that far from reality. But, the core of all this stays on the point that the US has to do SOMETHING QUICK and FAST !!! to brake CHINA increasing menace in terms of world supremacy.

The US has to accelerate contacts with INDIA, or with RUSIA … to get allies in a world order where China has all the chances to win the economic battle on its own.

The strategists meanwhile, must think about the real implications of a Russian PM visiting SILICON VALLEY in an era where the power, the real power lives in the NET.
Old gaseoducts or pipelines are nothing compared with the new wireless frontiers. Therefore, is it Medevedev´s visit a simple diplomatic approach or a business tour to allow the expansion of Twitter and Facebook in Russia ??? … No security control at the exit to avoid stolen CDs ??,…

No chips on the Burguer ???

Gentlemen,…. I miss James Bond on all this !!!
