SAP NEWSBYTE – November 10, 2011 – SAP AG (NYSE: SAP) today announced that Madrid-based IE Business School will join SAP University Alliances, launching the program in Spain. The company also welcomed top-ranked French university SUPINFO to the program. The announcement was made at SAPPHIRE NOW + SAP TechEd, being held as co-located events in Madrid from November 8-10.
IE Business School is the first SAP University Alliances program member in Spain. To launch the program in the country, an official signing ceremony is scheduled for November 11, 2011, to be held at the German Chamber of Commerce for Spain in Madrid. Government and industry representatives along with professors and lecturers from academic institutions will attend.
With support from the local SAP ecosystem, SAP University Alliances in Spain will help students gain hands-on, practical skills in applying state-of-the-art enterprise software to real-world business scenarios, and offer faculty access to SAP software and educational resources to enrich their curricula — ultimately resulting in highly skilled graduates in the region. The program aims to foster the development of connections among university leaders and students, SAP customers and partners, and SAP internal experts.
SAP University Alliances was founded in Germany in 1988. Today, more than 1,000 universities throughout the world participate in the program. Every year, more than 200,000 students are admitted to SAP educational courses.
