Influence and Trends

We have been talking lately about YouTube and his impact in the broadband needs for the recent future. With and estimated 161 exabytes created this year 2007 that has already finished (estimated by Nemertes Research Group), and 27 Petabytes per month uploaded in YouTube, we seem to be facing a great problem.
The curious point for me is that ‘fortunately’ YouTube only let us upload 10 minutes of video. This is creating a new generation of audiovisual producers and consumer around that figure. We can be hours watching videos on YouTube or the Internet, but the average time per video is around 5 minutes. Comparing with other contents like Feature Films or TV Series, we can see that micro-content boom was not driven by mobile technology as expected, but by YouTube limit.
